A Legacy Rooted in History
Our story began in 1903, when Giuseppe (Joe) and Maria Pelissa settled in Calistoga with their two children, Andrew and Anna. They lived a humble but joyful life in their Calistoga home. After Joe’s passing in 1924, Maria and the children continued to thrive in the close-knit community.
At just 18 years old, Andrew Pelissa took over the family’s farming operations, managing 35 acres in Calistoga with determination and grit. His journey led him to marry Viola, fondly known as “Babe,” and together they moved to Yountville in 1938. There, they purchased the historic Block House Vineyard, formerly named Yount Ranch. Andrew and Viola raised their two daughters in Yountville, in the very home where Grandma Dawne still lives today.
Today’s Leadership
Today, the Pelissa family legacy is proudly carried forward by Andrew Hoxsey and his two daughters, Kendall and Morgaen, who work alongside him to uphold the values and excellence established over the past 120 years.
